T'tzaveh
The priestly vestments Like our Shabbat observance Honor and glory
T'tzaveh is almost entirely concerned with the ritual clothing and ordination of the priests. God says the priests' vestments are "for honor and glory" (לכבוד ולתפארת - l'chavod ul'tifaret). The same words are found in the blessing that follows the Haftarah reading.Exodus 28:40And for Aaron’s sons also you shall make tunics, and make sashes for them, and make turbans for them, for honor and glory.Blessing After Reading of the HaftarahFor the Torah, for the privilege of worship, for the prophets, and for this Shabbat that You, Adonai our God, have given us for holiness and rest, for honor and gloryWhen we make Shabbat a special day, just as when the priests put on their special ritual attire, we honor and glorify God.
