I don’t think his list ever ends.
He’ll surely approve
One in similar groove
Whose content with his content blends.

When syllables count,
Rabbis are under great stress.
Hence limerick choice.

Haiku is easy
Compared to the limerick
Mine don’t have to rhyme

I’m intrigued by Torah limericks, thanks for letting me know about this – and mentioning me on Rabbi Black’s page.

I’ve sent Rabbi Black a request
We’ll see if I pass his friend test
With our shared obsessions
For strange Torah lessons
I don’t think that he will protest

Rabbi Joe Black (brought up at Beth Emet, now Senior Rabbi at Emanuel in Denver) does the parsha each week in limerick form, which he posts on his Facebook page. Here is what I just posted on his page:

Ed Nickow does Torah in Haiku.
He must be a Japanese Jew.
But we Evanston guys
Think limericks are wise,
So that is the verse form we do.
